AN Appeal from PO’RITRAN
Sub. : Request for Donations for the first “Detoxification Center” in North East India.
Dear visitor,
At the very outset, I like to introduce Po’ritran as a NGO dedicated for the services of the people of the North-East India with a vision of eradicating cancer from the region. Noted intellectuals Sri Homen Borgohain and Sri Dhirendranath Chakravorty are in the Advisory Board of Po’ritran. In order to achieve its objectives, we are holding awareness programs at various places among public to educate about prevention of cancer and alternative natural ways to treat cancer patients at home at low cost. We have been authorized by the Govt. of Assam to hold cancer awareness meetings in all colleges of Assam through a general circular No. PC/HE/Misc-21/2011/13 dated 8th Dec/2011 from the Director of Higher Education to Principals of all colleges as per directive of Hon’ble Health Minister of Assam. Accordingly, after conducting few such awareness meetings in colleges of Golaghat District, Assam Po’ritran had to temporarily keep the effort in abeyance due to shortage of fund. However, our effort to create awareness among general public is continuing through invitation lectures. Such programs were attended recently at the Police Training College at Dergaon, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat, Namrup Thermal Power Station in Dibrugarh District, , Sapekhati Junior College, Dibrugarh, etc. A proposal for sponsoring awareness meetings in 19 colleges of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia Districts is under active consideration of Oil India Limited, a public sector oil company.
It is now accepted by all that the root cause of most of the diseases, including cancer, is toxicity of the body which enters through air, water and food. Therefore, in a systematic procedure, the first step in any cancer treatment, whether conventional or alternative, is detoxification of the body from poisonous substances. Po’ritran, therefore, proposes to establish one scientific detoxification center at Rajabari, Bokakhat. Assam. The proposed detoxification center will make the treatments, whether orthodox or alternative, more effective in curing and preventing diseases.
It is heartening that on our very first approach the same Oil India Limited as mentioned above, has contributed Rs. 6.75 lac to the Detoxification Center proposed by Po’ritran which has given corporate recognition to the project of estimated Rs. 75.0 Lac including land and building. We have also approached Numaligarh Refinery limited, another public sector oil company, to contribute for the project as it would be established in their operational District.
Incidentally, Po’ritran has an ambitious plan of imparting free or subsidized treatment to poor patients of the region subject to financial capability though we have not received a single Rupee from any Government fund yet.
We, therefore, hereby appeal to the general public, voluntary bodies, well wishers and other corporate bodies to donate for this noble cause at their own volition.
The donations may be deposited to the account number SBI 32902966802 at State Bank of India, Bokakhat Branch, payable to Po’ritran, IFSC = SBIN 0010307. .
For international transfer: Account number SBI 32902966802, Guwahati, Swift code = SBININBB159
Thanks for your donations in advance.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
(Dilip Kumar Goswami)
President, Po’ritran.
